The company was founded in 1989 by Neil Trimby after completing his electrical training with WT Porter & Co Ltd. Neil went on to gain valuable experience working on and managing projects for larger electrical contracting companies, including Colston Ltd and Crown House Engineering.
From Local Electrician to Trusted Bristol Electrical Contractor
In the early years, Neil ran the business from his home in Whitchurch, Bristol. In 1990 he employed fellow Crown House electrician Chris, who remains a valued member of the team today.
As the business grew, the company moved into commercial premises on Redcatch Road in Knowle. In 1992, the company achieved NICEIC Approved Contractor status, demonstrating its commitment to high standards of electrical safety and workmanship.
Throughout the 1990s, the company carried out electrical installation projects across the South West for organisations including Safeways and Securicor. In 1999 the business was incorporated as N Trimby Electrical Services Ltd, further strengthening its position as a trusted electrical contractor in Bristol.
Commitment to Training and Quality
Alongside providing high-quality electrical installation and maintenance services in Bristol, the company has always been committed to supporting the next generation of electricians.
In 2000, the business took on its first electrical apprentice. Since then, twelve apprentices have been trained through the company, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to developing skilled electricians within the local community.
Continuing the Legacy
After more than 30 years providing professional electrical services to domestic and commercial customers in Bristol, Neil retired in 2024, leaving behind a strong reputation for reliability, quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
Today, N Trimby Electrical Services Ltd continues under the management of Greg Dando, who began his career with the company as an apprentice. Now operating from Chew Magna, Greg is dedicated to maintaining the high standards of service and quality electrical installations that customers across Bristol and the surrounding areas have come to expect.
